  1. Great pictures! Happy New Year!

  2. Schitterende foto´s!

  3. Happy New Year to you, too!

    • Thanks, Jacqui! May 2024 bring a lot of productivity, satisfaction, and success in your writer’s and teacher’s life! 🙂

    • Hi Jackie!

Thank you. And, I can probably wish you exactly the same thing back. 🙂 Happy and uneventful (is that possible?) travels to the six of you – with no mechanical, health, political, or family issues in 2024! xox

  11. Hi Liesbet, wishing you, Mark and Maya a happy, healthy new year filled with fun travels, lots of laughter, joy and love. It’s been ages since I’ve visited and commented on your blog but I do pop in and read a bit without commenting when I can. I’m happy that you are enjoying Bolivia. That’s a nice photo!! Please give sweet girl Maya a hug from me. Be well. Hugs.

    • Hi Lea!

I appreciate you swinging by, still following along, and going through the time and effort of leaving a nice comment and well wishes during your busy schedule. Maya sends you a wag back. She’s been healthy, happy, and thriving. The fireworks have been much less frequent during this holiday period. Thankfully!

Have a wonderful 2024. May it bring you some peace and rest, as well as good health, company, and enjoyment. xox

  12. Wishing all the best to the three of you too.

  13. Happy New Year! Looks like you’re “on top of the world” at the moment. Sending you best wishes for many enjoyable adventures in 2024. 🙂

    • Hi Diane,

Thank you for the well wishes. We don’t seem to be able to leave this high elevation. We are now living at 12,000ft for one month, running a campground in La Paz and taking a break from the road. It’s been super busy with campers, but good otherwise. We are enjoying Bolivia more than Peru! 🙂

Happy New Year to you and yours and I look forward to keep reading your humorous blog posts.

  14. Hi Liesbet, Happy New Year to you, Mark and Maya! Here’s to safe travels and fun adventures in 2024.

    • Thank you for the wonderful wishes, Natalie. I hope 2024 brings you the same amount of balance and enjoyment – on so many levels – than 2023 did. And no more losses. Happy travels, explorations, and exercising!

  15. Wishing each of you good health and more exciting adventures on your South American journey this year!

    • Thanks, Annie! I hope 2024 brings you and Steve good health, no more mishaps, and many fun adventures. And, that it brings your travels up to speed again.

  16. Awesome photos, Liesbet, Mark and Maya. Wishing you all a happy and healthy year ahead!

    • Thanks, Donna! Wishing you and Richard good health, fun hikes, precious time with friends and family, delicious home cooked meals, happy travels, and a continuation of all the connections, joy, and positive experiences of 2023. And, no more mishaps and accidents!

  17. That photo would make a great cover for a calendar, Liesbet. Just a thought, in case you make calendars of your adventures for family and friends.

I’ve enjoyed following your adventures last year and ever since I discovered your blog. Now I’m wondering how we found each others blogs. I can’t remember.

Happy New Year to Mark, Maya and you.

    • Hi Hugh,

You’ve hit the nail on the head again. Not only do I make yearly calendars for my family with a photo of us for every month, I did include a similar Machu Picchu photo, as well as the bottom photo, in this year’s edition. My family loves it! 🙂

Regarding our blogs, I think I must have seen a repost of your blog or a mention of a post on one of our mutual blogging friends’ website (maybe Terri), then read one of your posts and left a comment, which might have lead to you visiting me. Or, I joined the (obsolete) weekly WordPress photo challenge at some point and you found me, at which point I returned the visit. Honestly, I don’t remember.

Happy New Year to you and your (furry) family. xox

  18. Such a pleasure to follow the adventures of you three. Lots of smiles amidst the stress of the unknown. We learn so much from you. As I type, the snow is falling. The trees are works of art, but I know you and Mark are glad you can’t see it. 🙂 Happiest of New Years to you. xo

    • Hi Pam!

It is so nice to hear from you. Thank you for the sweet wishes and the personal note. Winter storms have finally arrived in New England, and you are right, we are not missing any of it. 🙂 Today, in the midst of rainy season, the sun shines brightly in a blue sky here in La Paz, Bolivia, and we enjoy that immensely. Because, at 12,000ft, it’s usually quite chilly. And wet.

Your comment made me smile, but, more surprisingly, it arrived just as I was reading (and commenting on) Debby Gies’ blog post about a review for “Flashes”. Congratulations! You and I were thinking about each other at exactly the same time…

  19. Happy New Year, Liesbet! I’ve been enjoying reading about your South American adventure and look forward to reading more!

  20. Thanks for the lovely wishes and wishing you all a magnificent new year in travel and discovery. Hugs <3
